Terms and Conditions for Hexakai

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Hexakai, including the website at hexakai.com, the Android and iOS apps, and Hexakai Plus. Hexakai is operated by Brandon Quinn ("we," "us," or "Hexakai").

By using Hexakai, creating an account, or purchasing Hexakai Plus, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information.

1. The Service

Hexakai is a hexagonal logic puzzle game. You can play for free. The free version may include ads. Hexakai Plus is an optional subscription; its features are listed on the Hexakai Plus page. We offer Hexakai on the web and in Android and iOS apps. Features may differ by platform.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, including puzzle catalogs, features, and availability.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Hexakai. Anyone who buys Hexakai Plus must be authorized to make that purchase (for example, the Apple ID or Google Play account holder, or an adult using the web checkout).

3. Accounts

An account is optional for playing, but it is required to subscribe to Hexakai Plus and to use account-synced features such as saved boards, stats, settings, and achievements across devices.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms. If we delete your account, that account's Hexakai data is removed. Account deletion does not automatically cancel an App Store, Google Play, or web billing subscription. You must cancel those separately, as described below, or you may continue to be charged.

4. Hexakai Plus

4.1 What Hexakai Plus is

Hexakai Plus is an optional paid monthly subscription. What it includes is listed on the Hexakai Plus page. We may add, change, or remove Plus features. You can play Hexakai without a subscription.

4.2 Account and device access

You need a Hexakai account to subscribe. Hexakai Plus on a Hexakai account is tied to that account. It does not automatically transfer to a different Hexakai account that later signs in on the same device.

A purchase completed through the App Store or Google Play on a device may still unlock Hexakai Plus on that device. One store purchase identity grants Hexakai Plus to one Hexakai account. If the Hexakai account you are using already has Plus, do not start another store purchase for the same benefits.

4.3 Plan and pricing

Hexakai Plus is a monthly auto-renewing subscription. The price is shown on the Hexakai Plus page and again at checkout. The amount you are charged is the price presented by Apple, Google Play, or the web paywall at the time of purchase, which may include taxes and may vary by store, region, or currency.

4.4 Payment processors

RevenueCat manages Hexakai Plus subscriptions on every platform. Checkout itself is through the App Store on iOS, Google Play on Android, and RevenueCat's web paywall (processed by Stripe) on the website. Hexakai does not store or see your full payment card details.

4.5 Auto-renewal

Hexakai Plus renews every month until you cancel. Payment is charged to your Apple ID, Google Play account, or other payment method at confirmation of purchase. You can manage the subscription and turn off auto-renewal after purchase in your Apple ID subscription settings, Google Play subscription settings, or the web billing portal.

For App Store purchases, the subscription renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and Apple charges for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of that period at the then-current monthly rate.

For Google Play and web purchases, you are charged the then-current monthly rate when the subscription renews. Turn off auto-renewal before that renewal date to avoid the next charge.

4.6 Cancellation

How you cancel depends on where you purchased:

Canceling stops future charges. You keep Hexakai Plus until the end of the period you already paid for. We do not provide prorated refunds except as required by law or by the store that processed the payment.

4.7 Refunds

Apple and Google handle refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases under their own policies. For web purchases, you may contact us or use the billing portal. Refunds for web purchases are at our discretion unless required by law.

4.8 When Plus ends

When the monthly subscription ends without renewal, Hexakai Plus features lock, including access to saved boards on your account. Saved-board records may remain on our servers until you delete your account, but we do not promise to keep them, and we do not promise that they will still be there if you subscribe again later.

4.9 No transfer

Hexakai Plus is not transferable between Hexakai accounts. You may not sell, share, or assign a subscription.

5. User Content

You may save game progress, name saved boards, upload a custom game background (stored on your device), and share puzzle links. You retain whatever rights you have in that content. You grant us a license to store, process, and display it as needed to operate Hexakai.

Do not upload or share content that is illegal, infringing, harmful, or that you do not have the right to use. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

6. Intellectual Property

The Hexakai name, game, software, puzzles, graphics, and website content are owned by Brandon Quinn / Hexakai. You may use Hexakai for personal, non-commercial play. You may not copy, scrape, redistribute, reverse engineer (except as allowed by law), or use our marks without permission.

The free version of Hexakai may display advertisements from us or from third-party providers. Hexakai Plus removes ads served in Hexakai. Third-party sites you visit from Hexakai, such as shops or book listings, may still show their own ads.

9. Third-Party Services and Shop

Hexakai uses third-party services, including Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Stripe, analytics providers, and advertising providers. Account sign-in currently uses email and password; other sign-in methods may be added. Those providers' terms and privacy policies apply to their services.

Books and merchandise linked from Hexakai may be sold through Amazon, Shopify, or other checkouts. Those purchases are governed by the terms shown at that checkout.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

Hexakai is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every puzzle, hint, or generator result will be perfect. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hexakai and Brandon Quinn are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or lost profits, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to Hexakai is limited to the amount you paid us for Hexakai Plus in the twelve months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

12. Termination

You may stop using Hexakai at any time. To request that we terminate and delete your account, send a request through the contact form. Account deletion does not cancel an App Store, Google Play, or web billing subscription; cancel those separately as described above. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms. Sections that should reasonably survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and charges already incurred) will survive termination.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page, with a revised effective date. Continued use of Hexakai after the new effective date constitutes acceptance. Changes that affect auto-renewing billing will be presented as required by Apple, Google, or other payment providers.
